It seems like most of the shows we go to, we find out about the day before. Yesterday we found out that Kristina was performing at a concert hall today in three separate programs. One at 9 am, another at 11 am, and the third at 1 pm. We decided we would go to the 11 o'clock performance. We were already running late, so we had to really walk fast to the hall. When we walked in and got ourselves situated we realized Kristina was performing. We saw a little of her beginning dance, but missed most of it. What we did see was very entertaining, and we really saw how talented she is. We really didn't know what to expect, but it was obvious that the whole production was downright amazing. The musical was based on Hans Christian Anderson's The Snow Queen. Kristina performed in two scenes in the musical play. After it was over we felt we needed to come back to see the 1 o'clock show. When we came back for the second time we saw Kristina's dance and were even more amazed. After the second show there was a gathering in the room outside the auditorium. Everyone was watching an old man in a bunny costume singing and dancing around. I'm not sure what the significance of this is, but the bunny has something to do with New Year's. See the video at the bottom of the page. Also enjoy the pictures below.
Here is an update on the adoption process from my mom... "(forgive me if I am repeating any of this) Friday we found out that SDA found our paper work to be in order and signed off on it so we are ready to set up a court date. You might remember I mentioned a court decree that needs some minor corrections. We will not be able to set our court date until the court, in the city where the kids used to live, makes those corrections. Our facilitators in Kiev are putting the papers from the SDA on the train headed back to us, so we will have them tomorrow (Monday morning). Sergey will pick them up from the train station for us and also continue to work to try and get us that revised court decree so we can have court this week."
Here is today's update on Mom's dad from my Aunt Sue Sue... "
Dad was expecting to go home today, but he had an irregular heartbeat which was caught by the monitors. Dad says he didn't even feel anything. It is something that happens to about 1 in 3 patients that undergo the surgery he had, so they were able to treat it right away. It just means a little more time in the hospital, and you know Dad is much happier at home."

The foyer of the concert hall beautifully decorated for the New Year. Ukraine decorates for the New Year like we do for Christmas. New Year's is the special holiday that they anticipate. |
