A Scary Lunch (Not really) Monday - Day 16

CAUTION:
MAKE SURE YOU READ THIS BLOG BEFORE LOOKING AT PICTURES OR WATCHING VIDEO

Hey, this is Karen here giving Kaden a break.
Today's update on the adoption:  Sergey picked up our papers from the train station this morning.  Secondly, the corrected court decree is still not ready, so we are still not able to set up a court date.

Today's update on my dad.  Thanks again Mellany:
Mr. Germany was able to go home from the hospital Monday. Karen’s mom said they are tired but doing pretty good!!
The home health nurse will come if they need her, and he will have follow-up doctor visits next Monday and Tuesday.
They were able to skype with Steve, Karen, and Kaden yesterday so they were glad about that!!
They are very grateful for our prayers and asked that we continue to pray for them as he recovers and builds up his strength at home.
Mellany

My family and I are so very grateful for your concern and prayers.  Being away like this when your family is having a crisis has been very hard, but we are so thankful to have friends like you that have shown such love and support to my dad and mom which has lifted our spirits and been such an encouragement to all my family.  We did get to Skype with Dad and Mom today and although he is very weak, it was good to see him with my own eyes.  Thank you again!

Kristina dancing again - Steve and Kaden step in to watch the last part of it (in the school auditorium). Kristina continues to be very busy with her dance team's different performances, so we haven't been able to spend much time with her, but we hope to be able to soon.

Visited younger 3 kids in Luba's room and...
Took passport photos of 3 younger children (looking forward to the day we will need them).  We will try to get Kristina's on another day.

Bought guitar strings today from music store.  Kristina has a guitar in her room that needs some attention.  Sergey says he can string it and tune it, so when he has a minute we will try to do just that.  This man has many talents and keeps surprising us with new ones.

Farewell dinner with the Macy's at the Pizza place.  They are headed back to Lugans'k tomorrow morning to stay a while so they can visit with the children they hosted this past summer that live at the Internot in Lutugino.  We will miss their fun company here in Severdonetsk.

The last thing I want to mention has to do with the title above and I bet you couldn't stand it and had to take a peek at the pictures.  Hope it didn't scare you too bad.

We went to lunch today at a restaurant we hadn't tried yet.  It was an extremely nice place.  A place where they check your coats at the door.  As we have mentioned before Ukraine is preparing for their special holiday, New Year's,  and are having lots of parties leading up to the big day just like we have Christmas parties before Christmas.
We are sitting in a room that looks out to the party floor, where a class of children from a school (11, 12 or 13 year old children) are having their party during this time.  They are really fixed up nicely and wearing their party clothes.  Now we have already watched one party, and really enjoyed it.  It was for children that were a little younger than the group we were now watching, so it was pretty tame.
Let the pictures do the rest of the talking.

Room we ate in looking out to the party floor.

Nope, your eyes don't deceive you.  Masked bandits or terrorists carrying AK-47 look a-likes entertaining at the party.

These are rapping bandits.  Never know what you'll see, when you party in Ukraine.  We are looking forward to bringing in the New Year in this great country that is really growing on us except for the party bandits.  We will start the new year a little before you.  Eight hours to be exact if you are in the Central Time Zone
